…About Dr. Bob Ouellette
Dr. Bob Ouellette is a retired physician who practiced medicine for 38 years in the Central Massachusetts area. A graduate of Assumption College and Laval University Medical School, Dr. Ouellette has previously held the position of Chief of Anesthesiology at St. Vincent Hospital where he later founded the Pain Clinic. He has lectured extensively all over the country on pain control following surgery and has several medical publications to his credit. Dr. Ouellette and one of his colleagues hold the unique distinction of being the first to teach CPR to firemen in the city of Worcester, MA.
Dr. Bob, as he is affectionately know by his friends, has what one might say is a "real passion for wine". He started collecting wines in 1975 and has been leading two wine tasting groups in Massachusetts each month for better than 25 years. Dr. Bob has been involved in founding or co-founding several wine groups including Les Compagnons des Bons Vins, the Massachusetts chapter of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, and the Worcester Wine Tasters. He is also a member of the International Wine and Food Society.
Dr. Bob has traveled extensively in France (he speaks French fluently), Germany and Italy, where he has visited many vineyards and wine sites. During a trip to Germany in 1975 he attended and graduated from the German Wine Academy.
Dr. Bob teaches an annual Wine Appreciation course at Assumption College in Worcester, MA every year. The Fall 2000 class will be his 19th year of this very popular Wine education experience where participants have the opportunity to learn about wines from around the world as well as taste fabulous wines from his private wine collection. If you were ever interested in learning more about wine, this is a class not to be missed!
Dr. Bob has been married to his wife Lu for 44 years and they have seven children and eight grandchildren. He loves sports of all kinds and plays golf as often as he can.
